Esha Knows Stuff

just a  little bit of everything

Yesterday during the weigh-in for UFC Fight Night 85, Frank Mir and Mark “Super Samoan” Hunt stepped on the scale with a pound apart in weight making the heavyweight requirements.

This is just the start of what is believed to be a very exciting fight. These two will square off in the cage at Australia's sure-to-be-packed Entertainment Center in Brisbane.

Frank Mir (18-10) is a beast every time he fights! He is a superb grappler that has now been working on his striking a lot more with his 5’’ reach advantage over Hunt. Especially with his last win against Tod Doffee at UFC Fight Night 71 where he caught him with TKO in the first round with his fists.

Although coming from his recent loss back in September during UFC 191 where Andrei Arlovski got a unanimous decision from the judges in the 3rd rough.

Mir is making that loss a stepping stone to work on other skills that would surprise all of us. Especially going against a fighter like Mark Hunt.

The “Super Samoan” from New Zealand proved that size doesn’t matter. Claiming his new record at (11-10-1) he knocked out Bigfoot Silva inside the octagon and won with a TKO in the first round.

The world was shocked and celebrating all at the same time. Hunt knows how to knock someone out and he proves that over and over again. This fight with Mir, who is the #10 ranked heavyweight in the division can easily go either way.

No matter what we are in for a very good fight.

Do you think Frank Mir will showcase his striking skills and knockout Hunt?

Or will he go with his ground game instead?

Or with Hunt come through and possibly get another TKO before the second round even happens? I can’t wait to see how this plays out. Make sure to catch all the action tonight with FS1 10 PM/7 PM ETPT.
