SHOWER THOUGHT: JOANNE CALDERWOOD

THIS GIRL RIGHT HERE, Joanne "JoJo" Calderwood (11-1) doesn't get as much praise as she deserves.

When she talks the most innocent voice comes out, but in the cage, it is a completely different story.

Even during The Ultimate Fighter days she had some of the best technique in the entire group of female fighters but lost her fight against. She has AMAZING striking and just about 100% takedown defense.

You are lucky to even get her on the ground, let alone stand up to her inside the cage. Calderwood is notorious for throwing elbows.

ALL. DAY. EVERY. DAY.

When she fought against Valerie "Trouble" Letourneau (8-5) at UFC Fight Night Thompson vs MacDonald, I was completely blown away by the power that she had with each punch.

The bout happened to be the first women's flyweight match in history.

On that note, it is one of my favorite fights to watch because Letourneau looked like she was in SO much pain. And let's keep it real, that TKO with that spinning hand fist in the 3rd round was...

I really would like to see her shine a bit more and it is going to be nice for her to showcase some new stuff. Going through the SFL, her Muay Thai, Invicta FC, her BJJ, and now the UFC, proves she never seems to give up and that is what I am really obsessed with her about.

"JoJo" makes you not want to judge a book by its cover which allows her to be a huge inspiration to young girls because she doesn't come from the best past. The struggle is real and she has risen through it all.

She will be fighting again this Saturday at UFC 203 in Cleveland against Jessica Andrade (14-5).
