Esha Knows Stuff

just a  little bit of everything

This rematch between Namajunas against Torres is one that couldn’t have come at a more perfect time.

Tecia Torres aka “Tiny Tornado” has proven why she remains untouchable in every fight. Her defeat of “Thug” Rose Namajunas came at Invicta FC 6 where they battled against each other for the first time.

Torres came out with a beautiful win showing off amazing striking skills even that young in her career. Torres’ most recent fight against Joelyn Jones-Lybarger at UFC 194 and that win brought her to a professional record of (7-0). Each fight has shown true progress and with her undefeated record, she is not messing around.

On that note, Namajunas may best known for her spot on The Ultimate Fighter Season 20 as she made her way up the ladder as one of the deadly favorites. Her devastating wins carried her through to the finale against Carla Esparza for the inaugural Strawweight title but ultimately lost. When she returned to the Octagon, Namajunas was out for BLOOD. Epic defeats of Angela Hill, who was choked out cold, and her most recent win over Paige VanZant have thrown her into the title mix again.

It is truly amazing to see her grow within the UFC and win fight after fight. The VanZant win was big for Namajunas as she showed an amazing amount of heart that was not evident in her loss to Esparza. This really is going to be a fight that is going to mean way more than any win combined for either fighter as a potential shot at the champion could be on the line for both of these hungry Straweights.

Make sure to catch the fight on Saturday, April 17th at UFC on Fox 19 in Tampa, Florida.
